Fragrance Event Sets New Standard
ScentFest SF exceeds expectations with over 4,000 visitors and 100 niche fragrance brands

The inaugural edition of ScentFest SF, held at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, has set a new standard for niche fragrance events. With more than 4,000 visitors attending, the event significantly surpassed its original projection of 2,500, demonstrating a strong appetite in the United States for a focused platform dedicated to independent and creative perfumery.
Event Concept
Sebastian Jara, the mind behind the event, recognized the need for a highly curated platform where niche perfume brands, professionals, creators, and passionate consumers could connect. Instead of replicating traditional European trade show models, ScentFest SF created a new format aimed at meeting the needs of the evolving fragrance landscape in North America, centered on education, discovery, storytelling, and direct relationships between brands and perfume lovers.
Location and Format
The choice of Fort Mason Center as the event location was more than a logistical decision; it became part of the event's identity. The historic waterfront setting reflected the spirit of San Francisco itself: creative, independent, urban, and open to exploration. The event's carefully structured format created value for both professionals and consumers, with mornings dedicated to VIP and B2B visitors and afternoons open to fragrance enthusiasts.
Industry Support and Future Plans
The success of ScentFest SF was reinforced by broad support from across the fragrance ecosystem, including sponsors, retailers, brand partners, and industry organizations. Key sponsors included Kintessence, Kayali, LuckyScent, Granado Brazil, and Jovoy Paris/Jeroboam. The event's growing recognition within the international fragrance calendar was reflected by the attendance of representatives from leading European fragrance events. Plans for the second edition are already underway, with a possible return in late June 2027.
The event's format and location have established a strong foundation for the future, positioning ScentFest SF to become a significant annual meeting point for the global artistic fragrance community. The involvement of influential niche fragrance retailers and cultural institutions added depth and historical perspective to the event, while networking events and informal gatherings reinforced the importance of personal connection in the fragrance industry.
The dynamic program of panel discussions addressed key topics affecting the future of artistic perfumery, and the presence of international fragrance event organizers reflected the global industry's interest in this emerging platform. As the fragrance industry continues to evolve, ScentFest SF is well-positioned to play a significant role in shaping its future.
