ALPOL Cosmétique has introduced three new SPF 50+ hybrid sun care products. The launches, revealed at in-cosmetics Global 2026, target the growing European demand for daily protection products that offer more than just UV defense.
Clémence Thory, Marketing and Communications Manager at ALPOL Cosmétique, calls the daily protection category a rapidly growing trend. Pharmacy brands first established this step, she notes. Consumers now seek hydration, radiance, and dark spot correction from lighter, more fluid textures in diverse formats.
Three 2026 Launches
The company's strategic focus on hybrid sun care has resulted in three specific innovations.
The CC Cream SPF 50+ aligns with skinminimalism. It provides complexion enhancement and high UV protection in one step. Encapsulated pigments create a natural nude finish. Its texture is lightweight and melting to avoid a greasy feel. "It's a highly protective product with an ultra-soft finish that can be used alone or as a makeup base," explains Clémence Thory.
Perfectint Serum is an ultra-fluid tinted serum. It delivers SPF 50 protection and hydration with ectoine, finishing like a dry powder. Thory clarifies the company's stance. "We're not makeup experts, and we don't aim to be. The goal remains a skincare and protection step with an ultra-sensory texture."
The third launch is the Ultra-Fluid Anti-Dark Spot SPF 50+. It addresses photoaging and hyperpigmentation through a three-part approach: high UV protection, prevention of new UV-induced dark spots, and promoting a brighter-looking complexion.
Protection as the Core Principle
For ALPOL Cosmétique, adding benefits must not compromise protection. Angéline Tireau, Head of Foresight, Sunscreen and Testing, states the core principle. "Even in a hybrid format, the primary function of a sunscreen remains protection," she says. Every product is first a sunscreen. Additional benefits add value but also formulation complexity, ruling out incompatible actives like retinol for toxicological reasons.
This principle is a key differentiator. To secure development, the company invested in a Labsphere system for in vitro SPF measurement. This tool allows early formula assessment before standardized in vivo testing. Tireau adds that it helps secure the process, shorten timelines, and reduce costs for customers.
Most hybrid formulas use organic UV filters. These are better suited for the lightweight, sensorial textures consumers want. Angéline Tireau explains that mineral filters are reserved for specific cases like sensitive skin. They tend to create richer textures and a more visible white cast, especially on medium to dark skin tones.
Future Development in Hybrid Care
ALPOL Cosmétique views hybrid sun care as a major growth opportunity despite its formulation challenges. Clémence Thory confirms the segment will see continued development with new variations, including stick formats. Demand is strong, and it is an area where the company claims real expertise.
