Leadership changes are sweeping across the beauty, luxury, and retail industries this month. Companies are appointing new executives to oversee technology, supply chains, international growth, and succession planning.

L’Oréal Canada has appointed Stéphane Bérubé as its new President and CEO. The move places an experienced company executive at the helm of one of the group's key North American businesses. According to the source report from Global Cosmetics News, this comes as L’Oréal works to strengthen its position across prestige, mass, and professional beauty categories.

Leadership Shifts in Luxury and Retail

In the luxury sector, Bottega Veneta has appointed former LVMH fragrance executive Romain Spitzer as its new CEO. The Italian luxury house is bringing beauty and fragrance expertise into its top leadership.

Significant change is also happening at Sephora. The retailer's Global Chief Operating Officer, Alexis Rollier, is stepping down after 14 years with the business. His departure marks the end of a significant chapter for the LVMH-owned beauty retailer.

The Rising Focus on Technology and Operations

Technology expertise is moving higher up the executive agenda. Ulta Beauty has appointed Kelly Garcia as its new Chief Technology Officer. This underscores the growing importance of digital infrastructure and data to the retailer's future strategy.

Supply chain leadership is receiving greater attention, too. Henkel Brands has appointed Dr. Fatih Koyuncu as its Chief Supply Chain Officer. The appointment reflects the strategic importance of manufacturing, logistics, and operational resilience for consumer goods businesses.

Other notable appointments include Alexandre Choueiri being named CEO of Bluemercury by Macy's. In the UK, Bodycare appointed Charles Denton as CEO and Executive Chairman. French dermo-cosmetics group Pierre Fabre appointed Venaïg Solinhac as CEO of its Dermo-Cosmetics and Personal Care division.

Departures and Succession Planning

Not all of this month's moves involve new appointments. Jones Road Beauty CEO Cody Plofker has stepped down, marking a leadership transition for the cosmetics business.

Succession is also underway at Dis-Chem. The South African pharmacy and beauty retailer's founder is stepping down as the company progresses with its long-term succession plan. The transition highlights the governance challenges facing successful founder-led businesses.

Taken together, the industry is placing fresh emphasis on leadership capabilities that extend well beyond traditional brand management. Selecting the right leaders is becoming an increasingly important part of long-term growth.
